Kelly retiring from Hartford Financial’s board

HARTFORD, Conn. — Insurer Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said Wednesday that Edward “Ned” Kelly III will retire from the company’s board.

Kelly has served on the company’s board since 2001. He will serve out the balance of his current term but will not stand for re-election at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting in May.

Kelly, vice chairman of Citigroup Inc., made the decision because of other obligations and demands on his time, the company said.

Hartford Financial shares rose 48 cents to close at $24.33.
