WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s day covers both national and international concerns.
In his first event Thursday, Obama will sign an order to create the bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. He’ll meet with co-chairmen Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson before delivering remarks.
Later in the morning, Obama welcomes Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. The two Nobel Peace Prize winners will meet in the White House Map Room.
The president travels to Colorado in the afternoon and to Las Vegas Thursday night for Democratic Party fundraisers.
