White House: Iran fails to meet intl obligations

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE — The White House says Iran has again failed to live up to its international obligations after the U.N. nuclear agency reported that Tehran may be working on a nuclear warhead.

Traveling to Colorado for a political event, press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters aboard President Barack Obama’s airplane that there would be consequences if Iran continues to ignore its commitments.

The International Atomic Energy Agency report suggested for the first time that Tehran had either resumed working on nuclear weapons or had never stopped at the time U.S. intelligence thought it had.

Three years ago, U.S. intelligence said Tehran appeared to have suspended nuclear work in 2003.
