Obama wishes Clinton a speedy recovery

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has called Bill Clinton to wish him a speedy recovery.

The White House says Obama spoke with a hospitalized Clinton on Thursday evening and said the former president’s work helping Haiti recover from a devastating earthquake was too important for him to be laid up too long.

The 63-year-old Clinton had two stents inserted to open a clogged coronary artery after being hospitalized in New York with chest pains.

Obama recently enlisted Clinton and former President George W. Bush to spearhead private fundraising efforts for the rebuilding in Haiti.
