Energy Transfer to buy La. natural gas operation

DALLAS — Energy Transfer Partners said Wednesday that it will buy natural gas gathering and treating assets in Louisiana from Tristate Midstream LP.

The assets include a 120-mile gathering system that can handle 275 million cubic feet per day of gas and natural gas treating facilities with approximately 480 million cubic feet per day of capacity.

The gathering network will tie to several pipelines, including Energy Transfer’s planned Tiger Pipeline expected to open in 2011 that will serve an area in Louisiana and East Texas.
