Southwest cancels San Diego flights due to winds
SAN DIEGO — Southwest Airlines has canceled dozens of flights at San Diego’s Lindbergh Field due to strong winds.
Airline spokesman Brad Hawkins says Southwest suspended all takeoffs and landings late Thursday morning. Flights are expected to resume at 4 p.m.
Passengers will be booked on later Southwest flights.
Airport spokeswoman Diana Lucero says Southwest is the largest airline at the San Diego airport, carrying about one of every three passengers there. Other airlines are operating normally, with some delays.
As of early afternoon, about 75 Southwest flights were canceled.
