Union says Hawaiian pilots ratified new contract
HONOLULU — Hawaiian Airlines pilots have ratified a new contract.
The announcement came Thursday from their union, the Air Line Pilots Association, International.
It says 90 percent of the pilots eligible to vote cast ballots online, with 83 percent of the group voting in favor of the five-year, eight-month agreement.
Capt. Eric Sampson called it “a win-win” for the pilots, as well as Hawaiian.
He says it rewards the pilots for their “repeated sacrifices over the years on behalf of Hawaiian,” and positions the company for future success well into the new decade.
The union says the contract will give pilots pay increases of between 4 percent and 6 percent immediately, and total increases of between 15 percent and 22 percent over the term of the contract.
