NATO says 2 service members dead in Afghanistan
KABUL — Officials say two NATO service members have died in Afghanistan, including a Danish soldier killed by a roadside bomb.
The Danish army says one of its soldiers was killed and five injured Friday when a blast hit their vehicle in southern Afghanistan.
The Army Operational Command says the members of a Danish scouting unit were flown to a field hospital for treatment but one was declared dead upon arrival.
Denmark has lost 29 soldiers in Afghanistan since joining the U.S.-led coalition in 2002.
The Nordic country has 700 troops serving in the NATO-led force in Afghanistan. Most are based in the volatile southern Helmand province.
NATO said Saturday another service member died Friday from wounds suffered in a vehicle accident in western Afghanistan.
