Delhi Lt. Governor to take part in golf tourney

NEW DELHI - Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna will lead the field in the eleventh annual “Lt. Governor’s Golf Cup” tournament being organized by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at Qutab Golf course, Lado Sarai on February 26 and 27.

Around 300 golfers are expected to take part in the tournament. n this largest Invitational Golf Tournament, civil service officers, members of diplomatic corps, individual from private and corporate sectors will take part besides eminent sports persons.

There will also be representation from judiciary in the tournament. The main participants include Justice Aftab Alam and Justice C.K. Prasad both from Supreme Court of India.

From diplomatic corps Doulat Kuanyshev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Jonathan Wutawunashe, Ambassador of Zimbabwe, Las Olofsson, Ambassador of Sweden, Andi M Ghalib, Ambassador of Indonesia, Shabir Peerbhoi, Ambassador of Lesortho, and Sidek Ali, Ambassador of Brunei are among the eminent personalities expected to take part in the championship. he prize distribution function will be held on February 27,which will be presided over by DDA Vice-chairman G.S.Patnaik.

It may be mentioned that 395 golfers participated in the last Lt. Governor’s Golf Cup played on February 20 and 21 at Qutab Golf Course.
