Aero India 2011 Begins

BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The largest air show of India Aero India 2011 commenced on a bright note on Wednesday near Bangalore amidst much fanfare and media coverage. The yearly event which presents the aircraft and military aviation assets of India is something the leading aircraft manufacturing companies look forward to. The aircraft and helicopters of the Indian Air Force joined on air for a breathtakingly beautiful fly-past and aerobatic formations. A K Antony the defense minister of India was present at the venue with a number of aviation industry bigwigs.

Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Union defence ministry the Aero India 2011 show spans over a period of 5 days. A number of Indian and global firms are going to showcase their new aerospace technologies as well as products at the event. Boeing the renowned Seattle based aerospace company has its eyes set on the mega event. It said on Tuesday that in near future it plans to strengthen its ties with the partners and suppliers in India. Boeing has a record of collaborating with Indian origin companies to source engine components and aircraft parts for its military and civil aviation aircrafts.

Dinesh Keskar the Boeing India president said on the eve of the Aero India 2011 show “Boeing is uniquely positioned to engage common suppliers and partners for civil aviation and defence products, which will accelerate quality and capability”. The Aero India 2011 is also special for the inclusion of the famous Eurofighter Typhoon jets. It is the first time that these advanced fighter aircrafts are taking part in air exercise in India.
