Ethiopian Finance Minister calls on Mukherjee

NEW DELHI - Ethiopian Finance Minister Sufian Ahmed called on Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee here on Thursday during which the two leaders agreed to strengthen economic relationship between the two nations.

“India and Ethiopia have long-term multifaceted relationship, which is strengthening over the years. India will extend all possible help to Ethiopia in its economic development,” said Mukherjee when Sufian Ahmed called on him in his office today.

In this regard, he mentioned about line of credit extended by Exim Bank to Ethiopia.

Later, Sufian Ahmed thanked the Indian Government for all its help in the economic development of his country.

He said that there is lot of potential in Ethiopia for investment in business and trade, and invited investment from India in this regard.

He also showed interest in signing of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between India and Ethiopia. (ANI)
