Ministers Group constituted to tackle corruption

NEW DELHI - Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today emphasized on the need to improve governance through tackling corruption.
Presenting the Budget in the Lok Sabha, Mukherjee said that a Group of Ministers has been constituted to consider measures for tackling corruption.
“The Group has been addressing issues relating to State funding of elections, speedier processing of corruption cases of public servants, transparency in public procurement and contracts, discretionary powers of Central ministers and competitive system for exploiting natural resources,” he added.
Mukherjee said the Group would make its recommendations in a time bound manner. (ANI)
