Highlights of Union Budget 2011-12 (Part-V)

NEW DELHI - Union Finance Minister Pranab Minister on Monday presented the Union Budget 2011-12 in the Parliament.
Highlights of Union Budget 2011-12 are as follows:
Allocation to health sector raised by 20 pct to 267.6 billion rupees in 2011/12
Nine lakh ex gratia payment for disabled defence personnel
50 more mega food parks proposed
Allocation for farm development increased
Agricultural credit limit raised to Rs 4,75,000 crore
Budget allocation of Rs 150 crore for Jammu for implementation of projects identified by taskforce
8000 crore assigned for Jammu and Kashmir for development projects
A ward to promote international botherhood to be introduced in the name of Rabindranath Tagore with cash prize of 1 crore
Funds of Rs 25 crore and 30 crore for naxal affected areas
Rs Nine lakh compensation to be given to men of defence and Central paramilitary forces for permanent disability and discharged from service
Propose 300 crore to modernise stamp and registration in states
Relaxtion in e-filing norms for small tax payers
Workers in hazardous industries, such as mining and slate, will get health benefits
Rs 5,000 crore to be provided to National Skill Dev Council
Rs 10-crore grant for Delhi School of Economics, Rs 200 core for Maulana Azad Education Foundation and Rs 200 crore as one-time grant to IIT-KGP.
New series of coins with new rupee symbol to be introduced. (ANI)
