Budget provides Rs. 200 crore for environmental pollution remedy

NEW DELHI - Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday proposed to allocate a sum of Rs. 200 crore from the National Clean Energy Fund as Centre’s contribution in 2011-12 for launching environmental pollution remediation programmes.
Presenting the Budget for 2011-12 in the Lok Sabha, Mukherjee said: “Environmental pollution has emerged as a serious public health concern across the country.” (ANI)
