Maoists attack under construction Bridge, labourers in Jharkhand

BARWADIH - Maoists have targeted an under construction bridge and thrashed up the labourers near Barwadih in Latehar District of Jharkhand.
Ten rebels attacked Paira village and disrupted the construction of a small culvert.
According to locals, armed Maoists forced labourers to stop construction work and attacked. They injured a couple of them at the site.
Police officials who reached the scene, were shot at by the rebels.
Kuldeep Dwivedi, a senior Latehar district police officer, said : “The police and 11 Charlie Company of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) Battalion were sent there. When the force reached the site, the Maoists fired at them and escaped when we retaliated.”
Arun Kumar Chandravranshi, an injured labourer said : “They were about ten in number .One of them poured petrol on a vehicle and set it on fire. Then stopped us from working on the site and chased us towards the hills.” (ANI)
