Assange’s ex-colleague terms Wikileaks founder ‘power hungry, ‘irresponsible’

LONDON - Julian Assange has said that he felt betrayed by his former colleague who has written a book describing the WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange as ‘power hungry’ and ‘irresponsible’, and added that he is considering to return to his birthplace in Australia.

The book titled ‘Inside WikiLeaks’ by Assange’s colleague turned rival Daniel Domscheit-Berg, went on sale on Friday amid threats of legal action, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Domscheit-Berg’s also claimed in his book that Assange had abused his cat, fathered children all over the world and had terrible table manners.

The paper quoted Dateline’s Mark Davis, who interviewed Assange, as saying that the Australian-born journalist felt betrayed by the claims against him, particularly those detailed in ‘Wikileaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy,’ written by two journalists from The Guardian.

“It’s staggering how many people are writing books about him. Nearly all these books are betrayals. Those Guardian journalists knew him very intimately and he shared all sorts of confidences with them. He feels totally betrayed,” Davis said.

Assange, who is currently in London awaiting extradition to Sweden over sexual assault charges, has claimed in the interview that he could publish more materials.

“More material is coming out. It involves a number of large companies and politics, international politics. I don’t want to go into any specific detail, obviously. This type of material covers all major issues, that is the nature of it,” he said. (ANI)
