WASHINGTON - A teen in the US, who was arrested for trashing a Kmart, has revealed that he did it because he was upset he had not been arrested with his friend, who had been taken in for driving under the influence.

South Lake Tahoe police arrested the 19-year-old South Shore man on suspicion of prowling and attempted burglary after he allegedly smashed several front doors at the Kmart at the “Y”, the Tahoe Daily Tribune reported.

Police found the man hiding at the rear of the building, and surveillance footage showed him breaking out the front entrance doors to the Kmart and attempting to enter through the back roll up doors.

It was determined that the man’s friend had been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence by El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies just prior to the incident at Kmart.

A police statement said the man was “upset that he was not arrested with his friend”, but he has now been “reunited”. (ANI)
