Canada to aerospace, defence sector seminar on Aer-India-2011

NEW DELHI/BANGALORE - On the margins of Aero India 2011 in Bangalore, the Canadian High Commission will host a seminar on Canadian expertise in the aerospace and defence sector followed by a networking reception.

Leading Canadian aerospace and defence companies will make presentations on their products, technologies and their areas of focus in the Indian market. Leading Indian industry contacts are expected to attend the seminar.

Canadian companies such as Bombardier, CAE, CMC Electronics, L-3, Magellan Aerospace, MC Countermeasures, Pratt and Whitney and others are expected to make presentations at the seminar. Senior representatives from the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia and Export Development Canada will be available for interaction and field enquiries at the event.

On the margins of this event, MC Countermeasures Inc.(MCCM) of Kanata, Ontario and EWAS Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bangalore will enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly explore business opportunities in the emerging electronic warfare (EW) market in India.

MCCM specializes in the generation of complex waveforms related to radar electronic countermeasures (RECM). Customers use this technology to perform analysis, testing, and validation of RECM, test and evaluate radar susceptibility to RECM and train radar operators to cope with RECM when encountered. MCCM’s contribution is a selective emitter-triggered complex waveforms generator (or commercial / military-off-the-shelf (COTS/MOTS) jammer) which allows users to precisely generate complex waveforms against radars in real-time.

The core competency of EWAS Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is in design, development and production of electronic warfare and avionics subsystems and development of EW operational support tools, EW simulators, automatic test equipment and system integration rigs. Specifically, EWAS has built and delivered EW Suite Controllers, EW high performance processor boards, DRFM controllers, mission plan generators and automatic test equipment (ATEs).
