KANPUR - A 16-year-old girl has been left severely injured after she was attacked by four men for resisting a rape attempt in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district on Sunday.
The teenager, who was attacked with knives in Udauli village, has received injuries on her hands and face.
“They told me to come with them, but I refused. Then they tried to force, but I resisted. Then they assaulted me with knives and cut me all over my hands, face and body,” the victim said.
The victim’s relative said that she had identified one of the assailants as a Sirom, who is from the victim’s village. The other three assailants have not been identified yet.
“There were four boys. She knows one of them and his name is Sirom. The other three boys are unknown. They tried to rape her, but could not succeed. When she refused to go along they attacked her with knives and beat her up. Then they gagged her up. This was done by those who were with Sirom,” said Ram Vishal, the victim’s uncle.
“They are not from any political party and their modus operandi was to commit rape. And they had prepared to kill her if she was uncontrollable,” he added.
Police has said that this seems to be a matter resulting out of personal family feuds.
The victim has been admitted to a hospital in Kanpur where her condition is said to be critical. (ANI)
