Inter-state police meet decides on sharing information

CHANDIGARH - Senior police officials from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir participated in a meeting here Friday to ensure better co-ordination and sharing of information among their police.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chandigarh Inspector General P.K. Srivastava.
“Issues having inter-state ramifications were discussed in detail and it was emphasised on us to share information about crime and criminals at the initial stages. It was also decided to conduct joint raids and interrogation of accused involved in inter-state crime,” said the official spokesperson of Chandigarh police here Friday.
“List of criminals and proclaimed offenders were also exchanged during the meeting. Senior police officials also discussed modus-operandi of criminals and difficulties that are faced at border belts,” he added.
It was decided to hold this meeting on quarterly basis.
