ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at a Moscow airport, and expressed solidarity with the people and the leadership of Russia.

At least 35 people were killed and over 130 others wounded in the blast that rocked Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on Monday.

“Nothing could justify such terrorist attack against innocent people,” PTV quoted President Asif Ali Zardari, as saying to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in a statement.

Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorist attacks, and the international community must eliminate this menace through joint efforts, Zardari added.

In his message to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the government and the people of Pakistan expressed complete solidarity with the people and the leadership of Russia.

He strongly condemned the act of terrorism, and said it underscored the need for the international community to jointly fight the menace of terrorism. (ANI)
