PESHAWAR - A bomb planted in a horse cart exploded near a school in Peshawar on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring over a dozen others, including eight girl students.
Senior police official Mohammad Ijaz said the blast took place in Peshawar city’s central Saddar neighbourhood.
“The bomb was planted in a horse cart, which went off near a school building,” Geo TV quoted Ijaz, as saying.
“A passer-by was killed and 11 others were wounded in the blast,” he added.
Another police official and local hospital officials confirmed the casualties, with a doctor saying, “We have received 11 injured and one dead body.”
The explosion, apparently triggered by a remote controlled bomb, also caused a partial damage to the school building. (ANI)
