Kolkata schools organize health rally for students

KOLKATA - Schools in Kolkata on Sunday organized a race to promote the importance of healthy living.

The event was called ‘Race for Tomorrow’, and many renowned celebrities including Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta, cricketer Manoj Tiwari and footballer Alvito D’cunha graced it.

According to Sengupta, she came to encourage the young squad and to make them understand the importance of sports in life.

“I think it is very, sports develops not only health but absolutely for mental health is necessary. So, that the young generation actually gets lots of boost and they come up as better individuals and it also brings lot of discipline,” Sengupta said.

“So, I am here today to encourage them all brigade of youngsters and I am really enjoying it,” she said.

Children enthusiastically participated in the event and learnt the art and importance of being fit.

“It is great to run, so many people out there and the ambience is so great and we want to prove that we are fit. We are youth, we are kids so that enthusiasm that should be there, so this why we have come here to run,” said Sudipta Maity, a participating student.

Children were also enthralled with the presence of big celebrities and hailed their feelings by taking their autographs.

This race was also organized to promote better mutual understanding and healthy competition among the students. (ANI)
