Militants kill female constable, five family members in Pak’s KP province

HANGU - In a gruesome terror attack, militants shot dead a female constable and her five family members in Pakistan’s militancy-hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday.
According to police, armed assailants barged into Constable Shamshad Begum’s house in KP’s Hangu district, and opened indiscriminate fire.
As a result of the attack, the constable, her two sons and their wives were killed on the spot, SAMAA TV reports.
Shamshad Begum had reportedly been receiving death threats from the Taliban for some time.
In a separate incident, police averted a potential terrorist attack in Hangu district, when they killed a man carrying a suicide vest and hand grenade that were to be used to carry out the attack.
According to the police, they signalled a suspected person to stop for checking, but he started running. On this, police fired shots at the man, killing him on the spot. (ANI)
