Jharkhand police nabs five Maoists in Ranchi

RANCHI - Jharkhand police have arrested five Maoists, including two women.

Acting on a tip off, police nabbed the Maoists on charges of giving shelter to People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) members.

Talking to media, Rezi Dungdung, Inspector General of Police of the Jharkhand Zone, said the arrested Maoists were accused of killing around 10 tribals from two villages on the night of January 5.

“Four people were killed in Brinda village on January 5, and in Tasera village five people from the same family were killed including three women, two children and two men,” said Dungdung.

Several mobile phones and ammunitions were recovered from the arrested Maoists. (ANI)
