AUBURN (GaeaTimes.com)- Chances of a potential snowstorm hitting Auburn saw Auburn University officials making some changes in the university schedule for Tuesday. Monday saw the Auburn University officials going for a decision to keep the university closed on Tuesday. The authorities were prompted to take the decision after weather department fore-casted chances of a possible snowstorm in the region.
The storm threat not only led the Auburn University officials cancel all the classes on Tuesday but also saw them canceling the BCS game screening that was slated to take place in the campus on Monday night. The University campus which can easily accommodate 9,121 persons has big screens set up for watching the match. The news had initially made the Auburn fans shrink into a state of despair but thanks to the power packed performance of the Auburn Tigers, every sign of despair was wiped out. The winter storm had earlier struck parts on the south of the state on Sunday due to which university officials thought it would be wise to dismiss all the programs scheduled for Monday night and throughout the next day.
Auburn University will resume its classes and other normal activities from Wednesday itself. University officials keeping in mind the safety of their students who had gone to their homes during the weekend, took the decision. The bad weather conditions had made the roads perilous for people to tread on. Mike Clardy, an Auburn University official said that a major reason behind the decision was to give the students some time to come back for their classes in case they failed to show up due to the winter storm.
