NEW YORK - TLC reality show, ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’, won’t be renewed for a second season, according to a report.
According to Entertainment Weekly, no detail has been given as to why the former Alaska governor’s show won’t continue but insiders guess it has everything to do with a potential 2012 presidential run, reports the New York Daily News.
If the Palin family agrees to another season, voters might think the 46-year-old isn’t committed in the race, the Huffington Post points out.
Others speculate that if she runs, TLC might have to give equal airtime to her fellow candidates.
The Nov. 14 season premiere of the show generated a jaw-dropping 5 million viewers, but that number fell 40 percent to a still-impressive 3 million viewers in the second episode.
The 8-week series has had several headline-grabbing moments, including Palin declaring, “I’d rather be doing this than in some stuffy old political office,” while braving the great outdoors.
In another episode, the former vice presidential candidate made fellow TLC reality mom Kate Gosselin cry during a camping trip.
Sunday’s two-hour season finale will be viewers’ last chance to see Mama Grizzly on the show. (ANI)
