MIRANSHAH - Four militants were killed in a US drone attack in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal region on Friday.
The unmanned aerial vehicle fired two missiles about 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of the region’s main town of Miranshah, Geo News reported.
“The missiles hit a militant vehicle and a house in Khadar Khel town,” a local security official said.
“Four militants were killed and the vehicle was destroyed in the attack,” said another official.
It was the second drone strike in the region this week. Earlier this week, five militants were killed in a US drone attack in Khysore village, 35 kilometres (20 miles) east of Miranshah, the main town of troubled North Waziristan tribal district.
The drone attacks, which have killed hundreds of insurgents in dozens of strikes during the past year, have been condemned by critics who say that it may constitute illegal assassinations and violate international law. (ANI)
