Designer Bruce Oldfield ‘will design Kate’s wedding dress’
By ANIFriday, December 10, 2010
LONDON - The bridal gown of Kate Middleton will be designed by Bruce Oldfield, claims fashion designer Ben de Lisi.
Although Kate has still to put the fashion world out of its misery and name the designer of her wedding dress, Ben de Lisi - who has made frocks for Kate Winslet, among others - has no doubts about who will get the job.
“There are lots of rumours, but I’ve heard it is Bruce Oldfield,” the Telegraph quoted De Lisi as telling Mandrake.
“I’m absolutely certain I won’t get chosen; I’m sure I’m not in the running,” he said.
He declines to reveal his source but adds that he sympathises with Prince William’s fiance.
“Kate has to do what’s right for Kate. It’s never going to be easy for her because the whole world is looking at her. She has a lot of boxes to tick,” De Lisi added.
Oldfield, who designed Samantha Cameron’s wedding dress and was a favourite of Diana, Princess of Wales, is, however, in no mood for any premature triumphalism.
“Bruce has no comment on that. It’s just Ben’s opinion,” his spokesman said. (ANI)
