‘SWAGs’ pose for sexy calendar to support their men in Afghanistan

LONDON - Gone are the days when letters and calls from home used to motivate soldiers to stay strong in the battleground.
A glamorous group of soldiers’ wives and girlfriends - or SWAGs - have joined forces to pose for a sexy calendar to support their men in Afghanistan.
The ladies, who call themselves the Forces Foxes, are donating all profits to two military charities, the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund and Combat Stress.
The brains behind the provocative pictures are Michelle Parry, 35, a care worker and wife of Lance Corporal Rob Parry, 33.
The mum-of-two wanted to raise money to help our hard-working soldiers, and rallied together 11 other army partners by starting a Facebook group entitled SWAGs (Soldier wives and girlfriends).
“I got the idea when Rob was fighting out in Afghanistan last year. It was a very lonely time for me. I had our six-week-old baby Elizabeth to look after, as well as our daughter Alicia, who is now seven,” the Sun quoted Michelle as saying.
“Sometimes I wouldn’t hear from him for two weeks, and I’d think about him every second of the day. But you have to get on with things, and I decided to put my energy into the calendar,” she added.
As a former model, Michelle felt confident about her body, and with the help of world-renowned glamour photographer, Mick Payton, they managed to persuade the 11 other SWAGs to pose for the calendar.
“Mick worked tirelessly to put us all at ease and make us feel confident about our bodies. I felt so proud of the other girls, and think the pictures look amazing,” she said.
The proud wife added that, “We’ll do anything to support our men.
They are our heroes, and deserve to be recognized by the country as that. Hopefully the money raised by the calendar will help them to feel a little better in 2011.” (ANI)
