NEW DELHI - Congress General Secretary will undertake a two-day visit of Orissa from today

During his visit, Gandhi is scheduled to interact with students at Cuttack and then fly to Berhampur.

After a night halt at Sambalpur, he will interact with students in western Orissa city and then leave for Baripada.

Gandhi’s visit is politically significant as the Congress high command is yet to name any one as the Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee president.

This apart, Gandhi’s visit during the state assembly session, is also significant as the party MLAs have been demanding resignation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the issue of illegal land acquisition for the proposed Vedanta University. (ANI)
