Indian will react after complete revelations by WikiLeaks: Krishna

NEW DELHI - External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Wednesday said that the government would react after whistleblower website WikiLeaks completely reveals all the 250,000 classified US diplomatic cables.

WikiLeaks released thousands of sensitive cables on Sunday, which include candid views of foreign leaders and blunt assessments of nuclear and terrorist threats.

“Well, let the whole thing come out, you know, then, we will react,” Krishna said while addressing the media in New Delhi.

Some of the cables made headlines in all major local newspapers and provided an inside peek at US diplomatic views and actions in North Korea, Iran, Pakistan and elsewhere.

So far, nothing damaging about Indo-US relations has been released in the first set of documents made available on WikiLeaks.

Immediately after the release on Sunday, Krishna had said that the government was not concerned about the whistleblower website, but was interested in knowing more about it.

WikiLeaks is an international non-profit media organization that publishes submissions of otherwise unavailable documents from anonymous sources and leaks.

Earlier, in October, WikiLeaks had released a package of almost 400,000 documents called the Iraq War Logs in coordination with major commercial media organizations.

In July, WikiLeaks released Afghan War Diary, a compilation of more than 76,900 documents about the War in Afghanistan not previously available for public review.

In April, the group had posted video from a 2007 incident in which Iraqi civilians were killed by U.S. forces, on a website called Collateral Murder. (ANI)
