William and Kate to share ‘Palace kiss’ post-wedding

LONDON - The Royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will share a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace following their wedding next year.
The scenes would echo those seen on July 29, 1981 when the newly married Princess Diana and Prince Charles sparked deafening applause when they broke the Royal protocol and kissed on the famous balcony.
The courtiers are working on an 11.30am ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, to be followed by a traditional wedding breakfast at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
But before that, the Royal couple will appear on the balcony to acknowledge the crowds.
Palace sources said the Queen is keen for the couple to make the appearance as the wedding is being treated as a semi-State occasion, while courtiers believe it will complete the wedding day and fuel a surge in popularity for the Royal Family.
“The Queen loves a wedding and she sees this as a celebration for everyone to enjoy,” the Daily Mail quoted a Palace source, as saying.
“She wants to be involved and thinks a wedding breakfast and a balcony appearance will both be appropriate.
“Ultimately it is up to the couple. They have made it clear they want to do things their own way, but the Queen is hoping and expecting that tradition will also be very much a part of the day,” said the source. (ANI)
