You will be surprised that this new initiative of grassroots-level racing of Polo Cup that started this year has added so much that championship is still open with one round to go,” said Sanjay Sharma, Manager of the National Racing Championship 2010.

“They are all youngsters, 18 years and below who are participating in this event. So, I think, whatever we had designed and whatever we wanted from the motor sport championship this year, we have got much more,” he added.

Teams running in the fray are Amaron Pro Racing, Meco Racing, Rams Racing, Mars Racing, VA-RAD Racing, Performance Racing, N1 Racing, Prine Racing, Team TVS Girling, Team Wallace Sports, Team Aerodene Race Krafts, Team Game Over, Team Moto Rev India, and Team Hot Cars Zone.

Sharma further said India had a good breed of drivers but lacked technology and hoped the country will be totally prepared by October 2011 when Formula one comes to India.

“We do not have the same technology as our counterparts in Europe. But with Volkswagen (VW) as a first manufacturer coming in, and you will see all-new formula cars, which will be launched in 2011. India will be totally prepared to be a big force in motor sport in the world,” said Sharma.
