PESHAWAR - At least 13 militants were killed in three US drone strikes in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal region, intelligence officials have said.

The officials said that the first drone strike occurred early Wednesday morning at a vehicle in the Qutab Khel area of Miranshah, the main town in the region. The slain insurgents were from Uzbekistan.

In the second attack, missiles struck a house and a vehicle in Khaso Khel village near Mir Ali, killing four other suspected terrorists, the Daily Times reports.

The third strike involved four missiles slamming into a vehicle in Pai Khel village in Datta Khel town, killing four more terrorists.

US drones have killed over 1,800 people so far in more than 180 strikes staged inside Pakistani territory since June 18, 2004, according to sources. (ANI)
