LONDON - A lucky ticket has scooped Britain’s biggest ever jackpot, winning more than 113 million pounds.

At the EuroMillions draw, the winner or winners, who have not be named, won the sum of 113,019,926 pounds.

“There is one British winner and it’s the biggest jackpot win ever. This is fantastic news - we’re absolutely delighted to have such a massive UK win,” the Sun quoted a spokesman for Camelot as saying.

“It is the biggest lottery jackpot prize ever paid out to an individual in this country.

“We have plenty of champagne on ice and are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticket holder to the National Lottery millionaires’ club,” he said.

The huge win came after a faulty website prevented thousands of people from buying tickets on the Internet.

“It wasn’t our website that was down, It was a connection error with online banking,” revealed Camelot.

The instant fortune makes the ticket holder richer than Robbie Williams, who is worth 85 million pounds, but puts them behind the Beckhams, who have 145 million pounds.

The odds of landing the correct digits were 76.2million to one.

The winner or winners will now have to register their prize with the National Lottery, before deciding whether to go public with their identities. (ANI)
