US plane makes emergency landing in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD - A US plane made an emergency landing at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport here Friday due to a technical snag, Xinhua reported.

The plane was carrying flood-affected people from the northern Pakistani resort city of Skardu.

All the 176 passengers on board are safe. No further details were immediately available.

Operations at the airport were temporarily suspended and several Islamabad-bound flights were diverted to other cities.
