Body found in restroom at Los Angeles airport
LOS ANGELES — A cleaner discovered a dead body in a stall at a men’s restroom at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.
The dead man had a bag on his head and his hands were tied together, but the coroner’s office was investigating the death as a probable suicide, an official with knowledge of the investigation told The Associated Press. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the probe was ongoing.
Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said identification of the man would be delayed until his relatives had been notified. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
People intent on suicide sometimes bind their hands “so they wouldn’t be able to change their mind,” Los Angeles police Lt. Steve McGarity said.
The man was found in a bathroom on the upper floor of Terminal 3.
