LONDON - Mountbatten marriage curse has struck again - Lord Ivar Mountbatten, the great-nephew of Earl Mountbatten of Burma - Prince Charles’s favourite uncle, who was murdered by the IRA - is parting ways from his wife of 16 years Lady Penelope.

The separation comes after immediately Lord Ivar’s cousin Lord Brabourne left his ancestral seat of Broadlands and his wife, also called Penelope, for a new life with his mistress in the Bahamas.

Last week, the Mounbattens’ break-up was the talk of the village of Uffculme in Devon, where Lord Ivar and his wife have lived since buying their country estate, Bridwell Park, in 1998.

“Everyone knows they are splitting up but at the moment they’re still under the same roof. That will all change because we know Bridwell is going to be sold and Penny has been house-hunting,” the Daily Mail quoted one local as saying. (ANI)
