Authorities: Body found in Hercules, Calif., home is that of son of slain 73-year-old man

Officials ID body in Calif. as Frederick Sales

HERCULES, Calif. — Authorities have confirmed a body found in a California home earlier this week is that of Frederick Sales, who had been missing since his father was found bludgeoned to death in his bed Aug. 27.

Hercules police spokeswoman Doreen Mathews says positive identification of the body Saturday by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s office was made through dental records.

Police and FBI agents found the body of the 35-year-old Sales when they returned to the home Thursday to collect additional evidence.

The home is where homicide victims Ricardo Sales, the 73-year-old father of Frederick, had lived.
