Texas Instruments lowers top-end estimates for 3rd-quarter earnings per share, revenue

Texas Instruments trims top-end 3Q targets
DALLAS — Chip maker Texas Instruments Inc. on Thursday lowered the top end range of its estimates for earnings per share and revenue in the third quarter.
The company anticipates earnings per share for the quarter will range from 66 cents to 72 cents. It had previously projected earnings per share of 64 cents to 74 cents.
It expects revenue for the quarter will range from $3.62 billion to $3.78 billion. It had previously projected revenue of $3.55 billion to $3.85 billion.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters, on average, are projecting the company will post a profit of 69 cents a share on revenue of $3.7 billion.
The company’s third quarter ends Sept. 30.
Shares in Texas Instruments fell 44 cents to $23.93 in aftermarket trading.
