Simdega (Jharkhand),LAKHISARAI - Family members of Tete, one of the four captives who was killed by the rebels on Monday has blamed the Bihar Government for inefficiency in safeguarding the life of their sole earning member.

The family today accused Bihar government for Tete’s death, as the three others were free the wee hours on Monday.

“The Bihar government is responsible for my brother Lucas Tete’s murder. The other three hostages have been released. Is the government playing with the lives of our poor tribal family? I am very saddened with it,” said William Tete, Brother of Lucas Tete.

He also alleged that Tete was not spared because he was a tribal. “If we would have been tribal then maybe he would have not been killed. A tribal has been killed and non-tribals have been released,” said William Tete.

On August 29, the Maoists had kidnapped four policemen - Sub-Inspectors Rupesh Kumar Sinha and Abhay Kumar Yadav of Bihar Police, Assistant Sub Inspector Lucas Tete, and Havaldar (Constable) Ehsaan Khan of Bihar Military Police - after a gun battle in the forests of Lakhisarai district of Bihar.

Tete’s bullet-ridden body was later recovered along with a note in the forest on September 3.

Maoists freed the three abducted policemen on Monday in Lakhisarai district of bringing an end to the nine-day-old hostage crisis. (ANI)
