PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has claimed the Taliban is regrouping in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan, in a bid to launch attacks on it and Punjab.

“They are reorganising and regrouping themselves in the Tribal Areas and posing a grave danger to the peace and security of the country,” the Daily Times quoted KP spokesman Mian Iftikhar Hussain as saying.

Hussain was addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister’s House, and urged the federal government to launch an operation against the Taliban.

Groups having links with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been battling the state for many years and are still flourishing in vast pockets of the country’s north-west region. (ANI)
