7 in 10 drivers admit road rage: UK poll

LONDON - A new UK poll has revealed that as many as seven in ten drivers get angry with other road users, and almost a third admitted their anger makes their driving worse.

As many as 1,497 respondents were questioned in an online poll by Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).

70 per cent said that they got angry with other road users and 28 per cent felt that getting heated behind the wheel affected their own driving.

Tailgating was termed to be the behaviour most irritating to drivers, with 28 per cent saying it was most provocative, while 22 per cent felt that others taking a call while driving was the biggest irritation.

Centre lane hogging was also mentioned by 15 per cent of respondents.

“It is good to see motorists disapproving of bad driving, especially mobile phone use, which is on the rise, but it’s worrying that so many still get angry when driving,” the Scotsman quoted Neil Greig of IAM as saying. (ANI)
