Official: 3 dead after truck crushes Calif house
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Authorities say a gravel truck has smashed into a house in California, killing a man, woman and child.
Neighbors reported there may have been a second child in the home, and a search-and-rescue team is searching the wreckage
Santa Barbara fire Capt. Gary Pitney says the truck was carrying a double load when it destroyed the home and buried some sections in gravel.
The California Highway Patrol says the brakes on the truck apparently failed.
The names and ages of the victims were not immediately available.
Pitney says the truck driver was treated for facial cuts.
