PESHAWAR - The Peshawar police has claimed arresting two would be suicide bombers during raids conducted in the Mathra area of the city.

According to reports, the two bombers identified as Jangriz and Sameen are residents of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Mohmand region.

The raids were conducted after officials received a tip-off regarding the bombers hiding in the area, The Dawn reports.

Earlier, Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam had warned that xtremists were planning to target high profile personalities, including judges, parliamentarians and top military officials in the federal capital.

Talking to media persons outside the parliament, Imam said that terrorist groups have issued death threats to police officials and important government officials.

“On the basis of intelligence information, security has been beefed up at sensitive locations in the federal capital,” Imam said. (ANI)
