DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- For the residents of the capital who are looking for a reasonably priced flat in the city there are reasons to feel elated. The Delhi Development Authority or DDA is going to unveil a new housing scheme in the coming month. It has plans to offer 15000 flats to the interested applicants through a lottery. Ashok Kumar Nigam the vice president of DDA said in a statement that the brochures for this housing scheme will be ready by September and made available to the buyers. The flats are coming up at Vasant Kunj. The DDA has claimed that high quality material will be used for the construction of these flats.
The flats offered by the DDA Housing scheme belong to HIG, MIG and LIG category. The earlier scheme offered by DDA in 2008 got huge response from the buyers. However, a number of charges were slapped against the officials for corruption. However, DDA won the legal battle then. Among the 15000 flats that will be sold nearly 8000 are ready while the rest are about to be completed. DDA is ensuring that the completed flats remain in shape and that is why it is employing enough security personnel.
The DDA Housing scheme under which the new 15000 flats will be sold adds a maintenance policy. The flats will come with an added maintenance cost. DDA will provide the maintenance for a period of 30 years. The DDA officials are thinking they will get at least 1000000 application for these flats.
