Ammunition seized in Kashmir’s Rajouri District.

RAJOURI - A huge cache of arms and ammunitions was seized on Monday by security forces from a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District.

Acting on a tip-off, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police with the aid of the 66 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel launched a joint search operation.

“We had launched a search operation in Kalakot. As per intelligence inputs we learnt that there is a hideout in the Khadarian forest range in Kalakot,” said Farooq Kaiser, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations), Rajouri

The seizure includes 405 live rounds of ammunitions, rounds of AK 47 rifle and 103 pistol, Under-Barrel Grenade Launchers, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) chargers, boosters, fuses and detonators, batteries and cells.

A search operation that began Monday, is still on. (ANI)
