Statue of Liberty evacuated, then declared safe
NEW YORK — Visitors to the Statue of Liberty are shaking off some anxious moments.
Superintendent David Luchsinger (LOOK’-sing-ur) says people were evacuated Wednesday as a precaution.
He says it turned out there was a faulty sensor in an elevator shaft.
