RAWALPINDI - Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has charged both the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of disappointing the country, saying the leaders of these two major parties have failed to fulfil their promises.

“Both the political parties are in habit of singing a tune of democracy all the time, while their own attitudes are un-democratic. Now the people have become aware of this, but at the moment, they have no other choice,” The Daily Times quoted Musharraf, as saying.

During a meeting with Pakistan Aman Party President Haji Gulzar Awan in Dubai, Musharraf said that Pakistani people want a change in the leadership “badly,” and vowed to play a “proactive role in the country’s politics in future.”

Musharraf claimed that his newly floated All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) will provide a competent leadership to the country.

The retired general also reiterated that he would soon announce the date for his return to Pakistan. (ANI)
